Who needs a big toe?

Apparently not old people! At least that's what the doctor told Kev when he to see about his broken toe.
Let me back up--Kevin hit his toe on the door/doorway (we think). It all happened so fast. All I know is that he was suddenly he was in severe pain, laying on the bed with his feet in the air. He said he hit it on the floor, but we think he must have hit the door first. This was Sunday night.
Monday morning he went to work and apparently it looked pretty bad because he had the nurse check it out. She told him to watch the bruising. If it moves from the toe to the foot, then it could be a broken foot.
Today the nurse told him to see a doctor. Well he just got home from the doctor and showed me his toe. The bruising has definitely moved past the toe. It looks awful. He has a prescription for a support boot. I never knew they prescribed those! Next step is a visit to an orthopedic doctor.
As for the old people comment, the doctor told Kevin that if he were old that they wouldn't even bother. Apparently old people might not need full range of motion in their feet? Who knew?
