Let it Snow!

I know--I'm still playing catch-up, but I'm almost there!

We've had snow twice this winter! I've never experienced that in all my life...but I'm a southerner so I'm lucky to have seen snow at all! This year was the closest to a white Christmas as I may ever get. My sister's house got snow Christmas day...too bad she was here where it snowed the day after. It didn't actually stick here, but Kev's parents got a lot so we went up when the roads were safe enough and got to play in it. We didn't stay out long, but we had so much fun. Kev and I even had fun throwing snow at each other while Wyatt stayed inside with Nana and JJ.

Then, lo and behold, we got real snow...but it was quickly covered by ice and we could've gone ice-skating down our sidewalks! We ventured out the first day and discovered just how icy everything was. We made it halfway up the street before deciding it was just too dangerous and we came back home. However, we did have a good time!

Getting warm inside and playing with the snowman who plays piano.

Christmas Day

Okay, now that it's been a month, I figured I should put up the Christmas pics! We spent the morning at home and Kev's parents came over for a little bit. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of this. Everything we got on film is on the video camera. I totally failed to make sure we had pictures of Wyatt running around avoiding opening his presents! haha! He wasn't super interested, but we had a good time.

We then went to my parents' house after Wyatt's nap and had lunch and a good time visiting (my sis was there too)! Kev and I are so blessed to live close to our parents!

Wyatt got a little seat that he can spin in. After my mom would spin him once, he would make himself fall out on the floor. Here he is sprawled out and playing with one of my old cell phones.

Somebody got a steering wheel! He loves cars and making the sounds so it took a while before he would share it with the grown ups!

He also wanted to check out his cousin's gifts. She got some blocks that he enjoyed stacking and knocking over (what kid wouldn't)!

Cousin E's new rocking chair. Our newest goal is to find a Wyatt a chair of his own. He has one that was Cousin B's, but he's not quite coordinated to get into it on his own. He's really starting to enjoy sitting in our chairs and even climbing into chairs at the table. I think it's time he had his own chair that fits him.

Reading

Okay so I have a confession to make. I have become a book-a-holic. Alright, I've always had a thing for children's literature, but now I've really started reading very regularly. It all started back in Nov/Dec (don't remember) when Kev and I went to see the latest Harry Potter. Since it was only half of the final book, we decided to read the book to see what happens next. We had all but one of the books, but we hadn't read them (well I read the 2nd one for a class in college, but that's all).

Anyways...I devoured the last book and realized that I seemed to have missed a good bit of information that they don't put in the movies and set out to read the rest! So while I read the first 6 books, Kev worked on finishing the 7th (he didn't read as often as I did) and started a Grisham book. Instead of blogging, napping (some days), and emailing, I've been reading. I finished the last one last week and have now started a new book that Abbie loaned me. It's a Francine Rivers book called Redeeming Love. I'll let you know how it is when I finish. Needless to say, this is the reason I've not been putting up the rest of my blog posts from last month and updating this month.

We've become readers! We just laugh at how nerdy we've become. So to update real quick--we're all doing great. I'm 33 weeks now and we go to the doc for our 3rd trimester ultrasound next week. It's hard to believe we're going to have 2 little ones in a short 7 weeks or less!

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve, we had brunch with Kev's family and spent most of the day there. We had a great time! Maybe Wyatt will be more interested in his presents next year?
That afternoon, we went to our Christmas Eve service and then my family came over and we hung out for a little bit. Poor Wyatt did not get a good nap that day, so he looks absolutely exhausted by the end of the day.

Wyatt got puffs in his stocking from Nana and JJ and immediately took them to Uncle S to get him to open them. My little man loves his food!

Wyatt and Cousin B got flashlights, but Wyatt liked B's because it looked like a lightsaber.

My favorite gift of all!

Nana and JJ got Wyatt and cousin B some of those recordable books so when you open them you hear Nana and JJ reading them. It's such a wonderful treasure!

Wyatt loves his cousin and B loves him right back!

My sis with E and Wyatt at Christmas Eve service.

Wyatt and E got some great little vintage jack-in-the-boxes from my grandmother and aunts.

Wyatt loves E too. We've got some really sweet kids in our families!

Wyatt decided to share his sit-n-spin with E!

Cleaning

We have discovered that Wyatt likes to clean. Hopefully he will keep this passion well into the rest of his life! He loves to push the vacuum cleaner (I think he mostly likes the noise)! He also likes to sweep. This first picture was taken back in October, but the rest were taken during our Christmas cleaning.

Wyatt finally got his own "vacuum cleaner"!

I know it's a little blurry, but you can see how happy he is sweeping!

Happy New Year...and all that jazz!

I know it's been almost a month since my last post, but since Kev's been home, I really haven't been motivated to spend as much time on the computer! We had a great Christmas break and since Kev goes back to work tomorrow, I'm sure the pictures will come this week (or next--I haven't even downloaded them to the computer yet!). Never fear, I will have you caught up on our goings on. It's so nice to have this time to spend as a family. I'm so spoiled right now that I'm sure tomorrow I'll be in for a rude awakening when it's just me and the little man again. Oh well...be on the lookout for lots of pics! :)
