It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

We've recently had a bout of beautiful weather and I decided to take advantage of it Sunday afternoon with Wyatt. It is allergy season so it was harder to convince Kevin to come out with us, but he did finally come as Wyatt's smiles were impossible to resist!

Happy Birthday Kev!

We celebrated Kev's birthday last week for pretty much the whole week. It started early when we spent the night at his brother's house. We got there and were welcomed with oddly-shaped pizza and cookies!
The pictures are upside down (sorry)...they're supposed to say "Oh".

Then, this past Saturday, we celebrated for real with his whole family. His mom made his favorite: carrot cake! It was so good!

**Pay no attention to those oddly shaped things on top of the cake.
In case you were wondering, we did actually celebrate on his actual birthday. We were supposed to go out with some friends, but one of their bunch was a little under the weather and we didn't want to risk giving Wyatt anything else right now. We've postponed it until we can coordinate all the kiddos to be sick-free! Here's the rundown of the day. Wyatt and I took chik-fil-a to Kev for lunch at work. When he got home, he opened his cards and gifts. He picked up one card and noted how wet it was (any guesses who that one was from?!). Then, we all went to dinner at Olive Garden. Wyatt even enjoyed hearing them sing to Daddy. I'll go ahead and say that the black tie mousse cake is divine!!
Overall, I think he had a good birthday celebration(s)!

Emerson's Baptism

Last weekend we went to Atlanta for my niece's baptism. I've never been to a baby's baptism before, but apparently it's a pretty big deal. We spent the night at Kev's brother's house so we could make sure to be on time. Well, Wyatt was sick last week and not eating solid foods so he wasn't sleeping through the night. Needless to say, a rough night led to a rough morning and we missed the baptism by about 5 minutes or so. We were just in time to be too late for the whole reason we went. Oh well.
At least I got to go to the reception party afterwards and Kevin got to go home so he could get some work done and relax before he had to go to work on Monday...or not. The truck broke down again. He got not quite halfway home and had to call AAA to tow the truck. I had no signal apparently so he ended up having to call his brother to come rescue him. I felt so bad that I couldn't be there for him. I had to go back to his brother's house to take him home.
I'll update about the truck later...when I actually know something. For now, here are some pictures from the trip!

Wyatt with cousin B. They love each other so much!
Cousin B bought Wyatt some books at the book fair and read to him.
He's so sweet and thoughtful!

My hair's a little messy from someone (SuperWy) grabbing it!

Enough Already!

I honestly think we've had more sickness in the house than not so far in 2010. Wyatt has been sick again and this was the worst yet. He started coughing again on Friday, but nothing else. Then his nose starte running a little Sunday/Monday so I called the doctor and they said to come on in. After I talked to the nurse on the phone and told her that there was no fever, Wyatt decided to go ahead and get one before we make it to the doctor. (Gotta love his timing!) So the doc gave us a prescription to hold in case he got worse saying that it was probably just another cold and to keep an eye on it.
Tuesday the fever got up over 101 and he was miserable. He just cried and cried and cried (which, if you know my baby, is very out of the ordinary for him). It was the most pitiful I've ever seen him act. I couldn't put him down and he couldn't sleep. He had stopped eating solid foods on Sunday. I finally gave him some tylenol and he took a nap and woke up much happier (not his normal, but closer). Wednesday night his nose started running green and his fever was still in that 101 range so I called the doctor first thing Thursday morning. She said to go ahead and get the prescription filled.
Today: he seems to be feeling much better. Still a little fussy and not keeping solid foods down well, but very low fever, if any and playful and happy! He's still coughing, but hopefully that'll subside soon enough.
Now for a couple pictures of Wyatt and his first car!

Picture Time

I've noticed that pictures have been missing from the last several posts, so I thought I'd try to make up for it by dedicating this blog to more pictures than words.
We went to our friends' house on Valentine's Day for some fondue. I've never had any before so it was a new treat for me! Afterwards, we had playtime with the kiddos! I wish we could've gotten some pics with the other 4 kids in attendance, but we waited too late.

Is he winking at her?

Me: "Smile for the camera!"
Them: "What?"

The baby-lover had to get in there!

I think he likes her better when she's not climbing on him!

This one's for Liam. He was going crazy for some attention!
Where's Wyatt?

We've been taking Wyatt's picture with these animals since he was born to watch him grow!

My Little "Giant"

Yesterday at church, a lady referred to Wyatt as the "giant baby". She had a 7 month old little girl who was half of Wyatt's size it seemed. I laughed at her statement. I love my "giant baby." Some people might have been offended, but I just laugh and agree because it's true. He continues to grow and be "Off the Charts" as the doctor confirmed today at his 6-month appointment. I know, he'll be 7 months on Sunday, but this was his official check-up so here we go with the stats!

Head: 19 in. (>97%)
Weight: 22 lbs. 10 oz. (>97%)
Height: 30 7/8 in. (>97%)

I assume they can't say that he's in the hundredth percentile because there might be one or two other babies his age that are his size too. Who knows!? Anything is possible.

The doctor also said that it's okay that Super-Wy isn't rolling over. He's continuing to develop in other ways, so all is well!
