Maggie Ann Carr made her debut Friday, March 4, 2011 at 12:50 pm. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 inches long. She is more beautiful and amazing than we could have ever imagined! I know it's been almost 2 weeks since she came, but we've been adjusting to being parents to 2 children, getting to know our little Maggie Ann, and taking this time together to just be a family of 4! Maggie is another blessing from God that we will be eternally thankful for. God is amazing and we know that we would have nothing without Him.
Here's the story:
We were originally scheduled for an induction on Monday, the 7th, but Maggie decided to come on her own. We're so glad she did! I went into labor as soon as we went to bed Thursday night. I laid down at 9:30 and the contractions just started coming every 5 minutes. I tracked them for about an hour and a half before waking up Kev, just to be sure. We got up and made sure we had everything we wanted and ended up getting to the hospital around 12:30 am. The nurse checked me and hooked me up. It turned out that I was in labor so they put us in a room. I got my epidural a little before 3 am and then we got to get some sleep. I got about an hour before the itchiness set in. Apparently the drug they used on me this time had a side effect of itchiness and I was unable to sleep anymore after that. They even tried giving me some benadryl which worked until a lady came in to change out the trash bags (I was soooo close to sleep right before that). I labored in itchiness for the rest of the morning.
Then right about lunch time I started feeling my contractions. I was pushing the pain button for more drugs, but it just wasn't working. I finally called the nurse because it was just ridiculous to have the epidural and be in that much pain (I didn't have any of this with Wyatt). The nurse came in to check me and ended up calling my doctor in. Baby girl was coming on out! I pushed through 3 contractions and Maggie was there in my arms. I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of holding a miracle for as long as I live. We are completely in love with our newest addition and so thankful for all of the prayers and support we have received from our family and friends. We couldn't have done this without them!
Now it's picture time!
